Welcome to Toucan Island Records
We’re incredibly happy to finally open the doors to our little island. We started this label to create a home for our own music and for artists around us whose work we genuinely love. We’re drawn to music that crosses borders, carries history and grows through exchange — from reggae and Latin American music to folk, Balkan sounds and beyond. As musicians, producers and engineers ourselves, we want to build a label around people, craftsmanship and long-term collaboration. This is where it starts — and we’re excited to see where it takes us.

Tuyo Trommzález – Sometimes
Built around a gently hypnotic Cuban bolero pulse, “Sometimes” by Tuyo Trommzález is a slow, intimate song with a warm, spacious production. The German-Chilean duo fell in love with the rhythm while travelling Cuba, and here it becomes the foundation for a song about creative doubt, feeling stuck and finding a way forward through music. Rather than dwelling on frustration, “Sometimes” turns uncertainty into something reflective and quietly hopeful. The duo are joined by Santaferia’s Mauricio Lira on electric guitar and Rodrigo Gonzalez on bass. The track is also available in Dolby Atmos, extending its intimate, immersive character into a wider spatial experience.

Milena Milu, Tatán González – Dictator
“Dictator” by Milena Milu, Tatán González and Juri Naranjah is a modern roots reggae track shaped by the raw, rebellious edge of Greek rebetiko. Heavy roots grooves meet the distinctive sound of the bouzouki, while English and Spanish vocals explore power, rejection and resistance. As the track unfolds, it moves into a heavy dub section and turns into something closer to a street protest, with Chilean vocalist Tatán González delivering his final verses through megaphone-style vocals. The result brings roots reggae, dub and rebetiko together in a bilingual, cross-cultural production with a clear sense of tension and defiance.
