From our little island to the world
Welcome to Toucan Island Records
Welcome to Toucan Island Records — we’re incredibly happy to finally open the doors to our little island. We started this label to create a home for our own music and for artists around us whose work we genuinely love. We’re drawn to music that crosses borders, carries history and grows through exchange — from reggae and Latin American music to folk, Balkan sounds and beyond. As musicians, producers and engineers ourselves, we want to build a label around people, craftsmanship and long-term collaboration. This is where it starts — and we’re excited to see where it takes us.

Tuyo Trommzález – Sometimes
“Sometimes” explores the feeling of personal failure — those moments when you feel stuck, unable to move forward, while self-doubt slowly takes over. At the same time, the song is about recognizing that facing yourself is an essential part of growth, and ultimately of learning to truly love who you are. Inspired by a journey to Cuba, the Chilean-German duo brings the rhythm and spirit of bolero into their second single, joined by Santaferia musicians Mauricio Lira on electric guitar and Rodrigo Gonzalez on electric bass.

Milena Milu, Tatán González – Dictator
“Dictator” by Milena Milu, featuring Tatán González and produced by Juri Naranjah, is a modern roots reggae tune about the ruthless ways dictators cling to power. Heavy roots and dub influences meet the distinctive sound of the Greek bouzouki, bringing the rebellious spirit of rebetiko into a contemporary reggae production. Driven by a strong groove and a clear political message, the track connects classic roots energy with a fresh, cross-cultural sound.
